Events
  Homecare & Hospice First Tee Open
At Pebble Beach

August 30 – September 5, 2010 The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, a unique event on the Champions Tour, was launched in 2004. It is held on two of the Monterey Peninsula’s most beautiful and world-renowned golf courses, Pebble Beach Golf Links and Del Monte Golf Course. This tournament serves as an international showcase for The First Tee, an initiative to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf. Professional Jeff Sluman, won the 2009 Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach and will be back to defend the week of August 30 – September 5, 2010.

  TFT National Academy
The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy revolves around the Life Skills Experience. Participants from around the world who have demonstrated exceptional golf and leadership skills are nominated by their Chapters to attend a week-long camp offering life skills and leadership development workshops, golf clinics, and career exploration.
  A-B Honor Roll
Twice annually, The First Tee Home Office recognizes participants of The First Tee who have earned all A’s and/or B’s (or the equivalent) on their school report cards by awarding them a certificate recognizing their hard work and determination through the semester signed by The First Tee’s Executive Director Joe Louis Barrow.

Future Leaders Forum
This innovative educational program is available for up to 50 high school students. It includes a three-day immersion in the sport, business and science of golf, and provides character education to help prepare our participants to be tomorrow’s leaders.  During the Toro Future Leaders Forum, participants will attend learning sessions on customer service from The Disney Institute, agronomy, event management and career exploration.
Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy
The First Tee and the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) have entered into a partnership to showcase Hank’s teaching skills and love for developing young people’s minds by engaging in The First Tee platform, which has become a clear market leader in the field of youth development. The First Tee home office will invite a maximum of 60 participants to the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) in Hilton Head Island, SC for The First Tee Training Program at Hank Haney IJGA. Hank Haney and the IJGA have arranged with The First Tee home office to offer a special academy experience for participants.
PLAYer Advanced Academy
The Academy is intended for advanced players within the network pursuing collegiate golf. The Advanced Academy Mission is: “To create an experience rich in both golf and Life Skills learning that will improve the participants’ chances to compete at a higher level athletically and academically while stressing the overarching concept that continuous learning is the foundation to becoming an elite PLAYer of the games of golf and life.”
National School Program

The focus of the The First Tee National School Program is to establish a lifelong interest in golf by engaging children in a structured golf curriculum taught during physical education classes, while positively impacting their lives and helping to ensure the vitality of the game.  Click LEARN MORE to find out additional information on The First Tee National School Program.

Each Labor Day weekend, The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach showcases the talent and character of young people who participate at The First Tee facilities worldwide. 
Future Leaders Forum

Each year, The First Tee home office invites 50 participants to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida to attend the Future Leaders Forum. For three days, the future leaders attend hands-on, interactive sessions in customer service, PGA TOUR tournament management, agronomy, researching colleges, and educational requirements for chosen career fields.

RBS Achievers of Year


The First Tee and The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have partnered to create the RBS Achievers of the Year Award, recognizing outstanding participants for succeeding in school and their daily lives as a result of their experience with The First Tee.
The First Tee Life Skills Academies

Every summer, selected participants of The First Tee attend the Life Skills & Leadership Academy, where they play championship golf, participate in life skills activities and career exploration, experience dorm living and meet a wide variety of young people from across the country.
