Scholarships
  Scholarships
The First Tee of Monterey County has many scholarship opportunities for Participants in the Life Skills and Leadership program. As Participants reach levels of certification, they are eligible to apply for scholarship opportunities. We hope that many participants from The First Tee of Monterey County will benefit from these programs. Please read more about the Scholars Program in the content to the right.

The Paul Porter Memorial Scholarship-DUE 3/19
The Paul Porter Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of former NCGA and Poppy Holding CEO Paul Porter. The NCGA Foundation supports the personal development of deserving youth through golf. The scholarship will provide $5,000 in financial assistance to a deserving youth who will attend a four-year college or
university. The award is both merit-based and need-based.

  A-B Honor Roll
Twice annually, The First Tee Home Office recognizes participants of The First Tee who have earned all A’s and/or B’s (or the equivalent) on their school report cards by awarding them a certificate recognizing their hard work and determination through the semester signed by The First Tee’s Executive Director Joe Louis Barrow.

The First Tee Scholars Program
The Scholars Program’s focus is to identify and designate participants from a scholarly and leadership perspective while adding value to their personal resume for a variety of future career and college experiences. The designation of Scholar brings with it eligibility for scholarship opportunities available both within and outside The First Tee network.
A Scholar of The First Tee exhibits leadership and abundant community service, along with academic excellence, while continuing to contribute to their local Chapter of The First Tee through mentoring and/or tutoring opportunities. Scholars program applications are accepted once per year from seniors in high school who meet the minimum requirements. Check back for application!

RBS Achievers of the Year Awards

Ten participants from The First Tee network will be selected as RBS Achievers of the Year semifinalists.  Two of the 10 winners will be named RBS Achievers of the Year finalists and received a $10,000 award for ongoing education. Each of the eight semifinalists will receive a $2,000 award to be used for ongoing education after high school. The RBS Achievers of the Year Awards includes a trip for all 10 winners and their parent/guardian to attend the US Women’s Open at historic Oakmont Country Club and attend cultural activities in Pittsburgh, PA in July.
